Camden Green Gym in Talacre
The Camden Green Gym (CGG) has been running for over 20 years, led by experienced staff from The Conservation Volunteers.
The Friends of Talacre Town Green are very grateful for TCV and Camden Green Gym volunteers' expertise and hard work, and for the wonderful improvements they have made to Talacre for wildlife and the community.
As well as Talacre, the group work across 40 green sites in the borough, from small hidden nature areas to urban woodlands, town greens, social housing estates and major public spaces like Regent’s Park and Waterlow Park.
For more information, or to join any of the sessions, please see the Camden Green Gym webpage or email GG-Camden@tcv.org.uk

Camden Green Gym Session on Tuesday 29 April 2025
The first session of 2025 saw hard working volunteers create and improve invertebrate habitats, remove Hemlock plants, carry out maintenance and improvements in the orchard meadow, and create subtle signage to engage park users.
The dead wood hedge built by volunteers will provide a space for keeping green waste on site that will become a great habitat for invertebrates and other wild animals.
Logs were brought in by volunteers and used to build habitats for wild animals such as stag beetles, woodlice, spiders, centipedes, bees, toads....
We look forward to the next TCV Camden Green Gym visit to Talacre!
Ideas for the future include improving access to the woodland area with more defined wood chip paths, improving planting at the south-west corner perhaps with bluebells and cow parsely in this tricky area, and the creation of more habitats and sources of food for wild animals throughout the park.
